Fourth Grade "RAP SHOP" Explorers at Butler School learned about song writing with me. They were inspired by the first few warm days after a VERY long, cold winter. I love all the sensory detail they included!
Ode To Spring
By Butler Explorers 2009 & Kathleen Gibson

I smell flowers everywhere.
The beautiful scent is in the air.
Kids dig for treasures when they play.
Rainbows and mud, oh what a day!

Go outside and fly a kite.
Spring is always such a delight.

In springtime there's a lot of bugs,
Sun and rain, frogs and slugs.
Green growing plants, when spring is bright.
Sparkling pools of water in the starry night.

Go outside and fly a kite.
Spring is always such a delight.

We feel happy, winter's done.
Now let's go and have some fun.
Play with our friends, join hand in hand.
It's like we're in a wonderland.

Go outside and fly a kite.
Spring is always such a delight.

We feel happy, winter's done.
Now let's go and have some fun.
